Gender equality is a fundamental human right and there is a dire need to empower women for the healthy functioning of our society in Pakistan. The Talk and its partner MilKar, a community service organization is a strong advocate of Agenda 2030 under SDG5, SDG10, SDG16 and SDG 17. The Talk and MilKar introduced #HerChoiceMatters, an awareness campaign that focused on ending violence against women in Pakistan through their platforms. The campaign was aimed at highlighting the root causes and solutions to incidents of violence against women and girls in both public and private sphere. Women encounter huge constraints while reporting such incidents. Patriarchal pressures leave these issues under reported or unreported as women do not have a consent in these crucial matters. Together, we are taking all the stakeholders on board to advocate women rights and raise awareness regarding the issues they face on an everyday level.
In the first leg of #HerChoiceMatters campaign, various discussions were held at universities across Lahore which included Kinnaird College for Women Lahore, University of the Punjab, Lahore College for Women University, University of Central Punjab and Universal College Lahore.
